A stones throw across from Chinatown's gate entrance is a taoist temple erected since 1877 in Victoria BC. Chinatown.Worship by a small number of devotees from chinese descendants. Practicing prayers, joss stick & candles. Plates of various fruits are seen set on alter as ifferings.There is a large drum & gong to be strike 3x after completion of prayers.For the elderly walking up the flight of steps is a workout & not for the faint hearted.

Amazing historical building. History tells its all. Tam Kung Temple hall was alot to learn from. Worth a trip up to experience and to learn its culture and its history.

Yen Wo Society
Canada’s oldest Chinese temple, at the top of the stairs. Worth a visit for sure!
